Humanity Fish swims through a vast ocean of awareness and unconsciousness. A teeming composite of images, the central Fish includes many facets of being human. Oil paint changes and molds the collage together across the canvas. A whirling storm spins in one corner — change and danger and the way of the world. There are so many interpretational and symbolic meanings I hope each person will see something new. I love Japanese koi — their grace and history inspired this Fish’s shape and fish-ness of being. The importance of bees to our humanity Life is highlighted by the bee in the Fish’s tail. An underwater cavern of rooms and doorways is next to the Fish, and an upwelling of frothy bubbles of oxygen up to the surface.
